The 10th Largest Lake in Sweden

It turns out the 10th largest lake is still pretty dang big. Weather has been fickle here, but we caught a nice clear and calm spell after a round of chanting.  I don’t speak Swedish, but I’m pretty sure it was a prayer to some sort of anti-rain god. Anyhow, here are some drool-worthy snaps from Lake Bolmen.

Midsommar

On Thursday we took the train to Almhult to meet up with Ian’s parents on the farm of some family friends.  It’s Midsommar (Midsummer) in Sweden this weekend and there are lots of festivities happening in the small towns surrounding the farm.

Exploring Stockholm

We had one full day in Stockholm and, in our usual style, walked about 10 miles trying to see all of it.  We started with delicious pastries at Petrus, a cafe near us in Sodermalm.

A Good Start

Our flight was delayed departing Oakland and we hit some complications using our credit cards to get bus tickets from the airport to Stockholm, but this made it all worth it:
